Switcher Studio pricing explained: three flat tiers, $49 to $149, no seats
Switcher Studio turns iPhones and Macs into a multi-camera live production setup, and its pricing is the flat kind that almost disappeared from SaaS: three tiers, published to the dollar, no per-seat charges, no contact meters. The limits that matter are production limits — how many places you can stream at once, how many remote guests you can bring in, and whether your stream can appear on your own website at all.
What the tiers publish
| Studio | Business | Merchant | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $49/mo | $99/mo | $149/mo |

The embeddable player is the real line between $49 and $99
The feature that splits Studio from Business is not multistreaming, though the 2-versus-20 destination gap is dramatic. It is the embeddable Switcher Player: on Studio, your live stream can go to two external destinations but cannot appear on your own website. For a business using live video to generate leads — the main commercial use of this category — that is the difference between renting an audience and owning the page they land on. If the website player is your use case, the effective entry price is $99, and the $49 tier is for streaming to external platforms only.
Read the rest of the ladder the same way: viewed minutes (20,000 on Business, 60,000 on Merchant) meter how much of your video audiences watch on your own site, cloud storage scales 12× across the range, and Merchant adds the selling layer — Shopify cart integration and interactive live shopping at $0.99 per transaction. That last tier is aimed at retail livestreaming; a service business has no reason to reach it.
Flat prices, no seats — and the promo renews
Nothing in the published lineup charges per user, which makes Switcher one of the few tools we have priced where team size is irrelevant to the bill — the opposite problem of the platforms we collected in the seat minimums nobody budgets for. A five-person production team costs the same $99 as a solo operator on Business.
The promo structure is the trap-shaped detail: "$20 off your first month" and "$95 off your first year" both renew at full price — $99/mo or $948/yr. That is a normal structure, but it is presented on the pricing page as a discount line rather than as a contract term, and the $948 implies the annual rate quietly sitting under the monthly headline. We treat first-period pricing with the same suspicion we applied in what happens when the trial ends: budget for the renewal price from day one, and treat the discount as a rounding error on the year.
When Switcher Studio is the wrong purchase
- Live video is occasional. $49 a month is $588 a year for capacity that a once-a-quarter stream leaves idle eleven months out of twelve. Flat pricing is only cheap when usage is steady.
- You stream to one platform and never to your website. The free native tools of every major platform cover single-destination streaming; you would be paying $49 for switching hardware you may not need.
- Your guests outnumber your tier. Two remote guests on Studio is a hard production limit — a three-person remote panel forces Business, and it is worth checking that before you build a format around it.
The reading method is the one from how to read a SaaS pricing page: find the binary limit (here, the embeddable player and the guest count), price the add-on line (the $0.99 transaction fee), and — with flat pricing — test the purchase against your actual usage frequency, not your ambitions.
What we cannot verify
Prices and limits come from the structured data on Switcher Studio's pricing page on October 23, 2026, in USD: the three tiers and every limit in the table above, the promo renewal lines, the $0.99 per-transaction fee, and the existence of a free trial. Annual billing prices beyond the $948/yr implied by the promo line, the trial's length and limits, what happens when viewed minutes or recording counts are exceeded, and multistream reliability in practice were not captured. We have not run a paid Switcher Studio account, so production quality, streaming stability and support behaviour are unverified. Hands-on testing is in progress. See How We Test.
